Biography:

  • pediatric oncologist and a research assistant in the Department of Pediatric Oncology in the Children’s Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw
  • has been working in this Department since 1992
  • published many peer reviewed papers in the field of pediatric oncology and hematology
  • member of Polish Society of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology
  • member of the European Society for Pediatric Oncology (SIOPE)
  • member of European Society for Immunodefficiencies (ESID)

Qualifications and trainings:

  • pediatrician, pediatric oncologist and hematologist
  • other medical/research skills: trepanobiopsy of bone marrow, pain management  and palliative care in pediatric patients, statistics, GCP

Research interests:

  • her special interests include the hematological malignancies and sarcomas in children, modern diagnostics and treatment
  • her research focuses on genetic mechanisms of cancer development, especially in patients with primary or secondary immunodeficiency, searching for early markers of lymphomagenesis (also in international cooperation within the COST LEGEND project) and adapting the existing treatment of neoplasms for these special patients
  • proposed new, optimized, diagnostic and treatment algorithm for a group of patients (due to her experience in treating the largest group of patients with the Nijmegen Breakage Syndrome (NBS) and Non-Hodgkin lymphoma)
