Call: Competition for the creation and development of Regional Digital Medicine Centres, competition no. ABM/2023/2

Project name: Paediatric Regional Centre for Digital Medicine

Project acronym: PeRCMC (polish); PeRCDM (english)

Grant value: PLN 29,867,585.23

Project duration: 01.11.2023 – 31.10.2028

The project aims to standardize the acquisition and processing of high-quality medical data for scientific and analytical purposes, ensuring the secure exchange of such structured data. This will be achieved by developing infrastructure, personnel, and system resources at the Children’s Memorial Health Institute. The initiative seeks to increase the number of scientific studies in paediatric medicine, including clinical trials, and foster innovation in drug development, IT, and other healthcare technologies. To support these goals, the Children’s Memorial Health Institute will establish the following:

  • The Paediatric Regional Centre for Digital Medicine (PeRCDM)
  • The Biobank.

The Paediatric Regional Centre for Digital Medicine is a new space where the worlds of science, medicine, and modern technology come together to improve the health and quality of life of our youngest patients. At PeRCDM, specialists use data from our hospital – ranging from clinical information, through laboratory and imaging results, to genetic data. Thanks to innovative data analysis tools, including artificial intelligence algorithms, they gain a better understanding of childhood diseases and develop more effective methods for diagnosis and therapy.
With PeRCDM, doctors and researchers have access to the latest solutions for digital data storage and processing. There are also algorithms being developed to streamline the design of clinical trials, as well as to monitor and manage patient treatment processes. All this ensures that scientific discoveries can more quickly be transformed into tangible help for children, both in common and rare diseases.
PeRCDM combines knowledge from various fields: medicine and biology, as well as computer science and mathematics. As a result, we create a friendly environment for researchers, physicians, and above all for patients and their families.
