Since May 2024, the YPAG ‘POLPEDNET Kids’ group has been operating at the Children’s Memorial Health Institute (CMHI), bringing together young people aged 8 to 18 from the Mazovia Province. The main goal of the group is to actively support scientists and clinicians in designing and conducting paediatric research by taking into account the perspective of young patients.
In addition to its scientific activities, the group organises numerous social and educational initiatives, involving children and young people in various charity projects, workshops and social campaigns.
So far, activities have included a series of classes on ‘Modern technologies in imaging cardiology’ led by Dr Adam Koleśnik and educational workshops on „How a hospital pharmacy works” with Marta Szymańska. The group members also actively participated in a Christmas collection of gifts, games and toys, which were donated to the patients of the hospital.
YPAG ‘POLPEDNET Kids’ is part of an international network of youth advisory groups, such as iCAN, Teddy and eYPAGNet, working with peers from around the world to promote the exchange of experiences and joint initiatives for paediatric patients.
We invite CMHI’s researchers to collaborate with the group, take advantage of their advice and see medicine through the eyes of children and young people.
