AntiSepsis project

On 25th of February 2025, a meeting was held to launch the clinical part of the AntiSepsis project.
Presentations were given by: Dr M. Mikaszewska-Sokolewicz – Principal Investigator,
Dr A. Kocur and A. Czajkowska, MSc, specialists from the Laboratory of Monitored Therapy, Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Toxicology at the Department of Clinical Biochemistry.

The aim of the project is to measure the therapeutic concentration of antimicrobial drugs and to determine the relationship between dose, blood concentration and clinical test results in an unselected group of children in life-threatening conditions hospitalised in intensive care units.

Using a spectrometer purchased for this purpose, researchers will monitor the concentrations of antibiotics in patients infected with microorganisms, which will help to better tailor treatment and increase the effectiveness of therapy.
