Qualifications and trainings:
- graduated in biology on Warsaw University
- PhD in Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics Polish Academy of Science
- Postdoctoral fellow: Center for Neurovirology and Cancer Biology, Department of Biology, Temple University, Philadelphia USA (2002-2005) and Department of Translational Pulmonology, University Children’s Hospital, Heidelberg Germany (2005-2008)
- Methodology of Clinical Study- postgraduated at Warsaw Medical University (2010)
Research interests:
- research work was mainly devoted to molecular studies of biological processes (activation of metabolic pathways, signal transduction through receptors), then also clinical ones, as well as characterization of phenotype-modifying genes in lung diseases (cystic fibrosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
- Currently involved in the study of immunological parameters responsible for pro-inflammatory response as well as markers of remodeling and fibrosis, and in particular the role of metalloproteinases in the pathogenesis of metabolic diseases (including hypertension, NAFLD, obesity)
